pg. 321- The Clear Cut Future

Sundays seem to be the day for us that weird things happen. The day started out pretty good. We went to a baby shower, the hubby had rehearsal and then we went to dinner at Greek Islands. It was a quick dinner, maybe an hour and a half. During that time Saul gutted the armchair in the living room. The whole room was covered in yellow foam and fabric.

BAD DOG!

I cleaned up the mess and it looked like most of the stuffing was just shredded not eaten. So we weren’t that concerned. We settled into bed with the computer to watch American Gangster and about halfway into it the hubby says ‘He’s peeing!’. So we stopped the movie walked out into the hall and he did pee, right next to where the cat was sleeping.

JERK!

I walked out into the living room and he had barfed.

GROSS!

The hubby called his mom to see if she had any advice. She’s our go to person on all things dog. She also has a puppy who’s a few months younger than Saul who eats everything. On her suggestion we called the emergency vet and they told us to bring him in.

He barfed again in the car on the way there. So now we were both a little worried. That brought the barf count up to 5 in about an hour.

He got poked and prodded and x-rayed and the vet said he should be okay. There was a ’suspicious density’ in his stomach but she wasn’t super concerned about it. They gave him SQ fluids, where they put fluid under his skin to re-hydrate him.

SUPER GROSS!

I could hardly look at him. He had this giant blob under his skin on his back. He was very self-conscious about it.

We finally got back home around 1am. Saul curled up in bed and fell asleep. We tried to finish the movie but were nodding off.

I’m glad the dog is okay. And that chair was kind of crappy anyway.
