Now that the weather is balmy and sunshiney my ears crave Brazilian music. I always have something Brazilian in the rotation but lately it’s been Jorge Ben again. Love, love, love. A couple years ago while working at the HotHouse I had the honor to work the night he played there. Before that night I had heard a little bit here and there but wasn’t all that familiar with his music. Since then I’ve been hooked. That show was one of the most amazing shows I ever saw. The energy, the music, the people coming up to me at the bar with this look of ‘holy crap I can’t believe I’m actually here’. I still remember the face of one guy just dripping with sweat after the show saying to me ‘You don’t even understand how amazing it is to see him here’.
