Here are some recommendations and things I’ve had good experiences with in our journey so far as Mr Saul’s keepers..
PAWS : This is where we adopted our lovely pup from. They are a little more pricey than the Anti-Cruelty Society but it’s a great organization that I don’t mind giving a little extra money to. The staff was really knowledgeable and gave us a whole folder of information to take home, which has really come in handy.
No matter where you adopt your pup from go to Petco for your initial supplies. They will give you a coupon book with all kinds of helpful money savings on the big stuff (crate, bed, dishes, potty pads, collar, leash, food etc.) The coupons are only for adopted dogs. We went to Petsmart for the big supply run and let me tell you the coupons would have been a huge help.
We are taking Saul to Petco for his obedience classes and did get to use a coupon for the class plus PAWS gives you $75 for taking your adopted dog to training classes. So all in all the 6 week class is costing us a whopping $4. You can’t beat that.
Family Pet Animal Hospital Awesome, awesome, awesome! Saul runs to get in the place he loves it so much. Really nice staff. Highly recommended.
That’s all I can think of off hand but will add more as I come across things.
