Have you checked out the documentary by Invisible Institute about the 61st Street Community Garden? It is pretty good, but not sad in the way I'd expect these gardeners to be after what happened to their garden.

Nice blog you got here.

I live in Australia and am a member of a community garden. I talk about the community garden and my own sustainable journey on my blog.

www.zapla.org is a public service site about the history of the 10 yr old Los Angeles City ban on gas blowers within 500 feet of a residence. This was a compromise on our part--electric blowers are still allowed, though they also blow particulate matter, dust, debris and dried feces, gasoline and oil into the air. This air pollution drifts for up to three days. See the site for health and economic facts regarding leaf blower use, and for our responses to claims of blower ban opponents. The same claims are being made by opponents today.

Good to hear! I've been putting honey in my coffee every morning for 11 days so far. I haven't noticed a huge change yet.

The red wine allergy is kind of bummer for sure. Certain regions are worse than others. Argentina or some parts of France, crazy sneezing fits. Australian and most US wines, not so bad. Very weird.

Yes definitely Mary Jo! We don't even have an little ones yet and I'm ready to start a revolution :)

And Tim, I agree 100%. Schools really do have a long way to go. We should all try to get involved as much as we can and help them make better choices for the next generation.

Absolutely true, it all goes back to our ancestors, how did we lived in the past? Full of bacteria...which helps our body build a stronger immune system. Glad to know that more people are aware of this!
